Hartford Stage and TheaterWorks Hartford will co-produce Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, directed by Rob Ruggiero. This musical thriller, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler, tells the dark tale of love, murder, and revenge set in 19th-century London. The production is notable for its intimate chamber setting and promises to deliver Sondheim's unforgettable score and sharp wit. Sweeney Todd will run from June 5 to July 5, 2026.
