Nite Spot Nights, an eclectic mix of unique musical cabaret performances opens it’s third season with multi-award winning vocalist Scott Coulter on Saturday, September 9th at the Milford Center for the Arts on Railroad Avenue in Downtown Milford.
A co-production of the Milford Arts Council and Pantochino Productions Inc, Nite Spot Nights has featured top artists from New York City’s cabaret scene including vocalist, bands and comedy. The flexible performance space is transformed into a club-like atmosphere with table and chair seating and patrons are invited to bring your own food and drink to enjoy during the show. This season features six varied acts.
First up is Scott Coulter, one of New York’s most honored vocalists. For his work in cabaret, Scott has received five MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs), five Bistro Awards and two Nightlife Awards for Outstanding Vocalist and has performed at most of NYC’s top rooms including Birdland, 54 Below, The Oak Room at the Algonquin, and Feinstein’s at The Regency. His evening is inspired by the halls of The Brill Building in Times Square where the sound of America in the 50’s and 60’s was born. It was home to Carole King, Neil Sedaka, Lieber & Stoller, Neil Diamond and many others. The songs they wrote changed the sound of popular music and became some of the most iconic music of all times. Coulter takes audiences on a journey into the music and stories of the songs that defined a generation. Songs include “Breaking Up is Hard to Do,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Stand By Me” among others.
