Middletown, CT— Oddfellows Playhouse and ARTFARM are proud to announce their participation in the 2025 Nationwide Reading of ENOUGH! Plays to End Gun Violence on Saturday, October 11 at 2pm at Oddfellows Playhouse

ARTFARM and Oddfellows will join more than 48 communities across the United States to perform readings of  this year’s winning short plays by teen writers — where art, activism, and youth voices unite to confront what is sadly one of the defining issues of our time. Admission is free, but donations to support the Ana Grace Project will be accepted at the door.

ENOUGH! empowers teens to confront gun violence by writing new 10-minute plays that spark conversation and inspire action in communities nationwide. ENOUGH! received 127 submissions from across the country. Six bold short plays were selected by a panel, including New York Times-bestselling author Jason Reynolds, Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and nationally recognized dramatists.

“These plays cut straight to the heart of what it means to grow up in America today,” says Michael Cotey, creator of ENOUGH! and Joaquin Oliver Artistic Producer. They remind us that the voices most impacted by gun violence — young people — are also among the most powerful in driving change.”

“Theatre gives young people a voice. With Enough!, we’re proud to amplify those voices against the epidemic of gun violence.” says Leland Williams, Director of Teen Programs and Outreach at Oddfellows

In addition to the staged reading, Oddfellows and ARTFARM  will host a Q&A talkback after the reading.  The program features six diverse and urgent stories exploring the many angles of gun violence in America — from classrooms to neighborhoods to families.

ARTFARM Artistic Director, Marcella Trowbridge says “Heartbreakingly, the issue of gun violence seems not to be going away in this country. In speaking up, speaking out- gathering together to hear the voices of young people- we hope that we can change this. There is no need for the amount of senseless gun violence that is happening every day in the United States. These are simple play readings- but the more we connect with one another, the less likely we are to harm one another.”

ARTFARM and Oddfellows are donating all proceeds to The Ana Grace Project. We hope you will attend and - feel free to donate! The event will be recorded and shared on-line for those who cannot attend in person. Donations can be made at www.art-farm.org or mailed to ARTFARM, 119 Highland Avenue, Middletown, CT 06457. *Please mark ‘End Gun Violence’ in the memo.
