Linda Eder to Bring CHRISTMAS WHERE YOU ARE to Ridgefield Playhouse, 12/8

By:

Her voice is compared to a Stradivarius. She has won critical acclaim for her leading Broadway role in "Jekyll & Hyde". She thrives on the concert stage with her 7-piece band and is bringing her holiday event "Christmas Where You Are" to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m., showcasing songs from her brand new CD. Linda Eder's extraordinary vocal range - from Broadway and pops to country and jazz - will help make the holidays bright. Eder's fans from around the world participated in selecting six of the twelve songs on the CDChristmas Where You Are, being released this October, by voting via social media for the Christmas classics they most wanted to hear Linda perform, including "Baby, It's Cold Outside", which Linda has reinterpreted as a tongue-in-cheek mother-child debate about going outside in chilly weather. She also sings two original songs, "Christmas Where You Are" (music and lyrics by Linda Eder) and "Silence of Snow" (music by Frank Wildhorn and lyrics by Linda Eder). Eder will perform other classics such as "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night".

"Christmas is meant to be a special time when we remember what is important in life and the people who are dearest to our hearts. Christmas music plays a big part in that. I hope this CD helps listeners to find the magic of Christmas this year and every year to come."

This Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series?event is partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa with media sponsor WMNR Fine Arts Radio 88.1fm. For Dinner-and-a-Show, Bernard's (22 West Lane, Ridgefield), is offering a free glass of wine with dinner, or a $45 special prix-fixe dinner when tickets are presented; reservations suggested.

Linda Eder got her big break after winning an unprecedented 12-week run on Star Search. She is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Lucy in "Phantom of the Opera" for 16 months, for which she won a Drama Desk Award. Eder has recorded five albums.

For tickets ($62.50), call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, or order online atridgefieldplayhouse.org. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT.
