Get ready for the Capitol Steps as they skewer Republicans, Democrats, red states and blue states, with hilarious send-ups and satire on the current political climate. The Capitol Steps began in 1981 at a Christmas party in the office of former Senator Charles Percy. Like most things in Congress, they never knew when to stop. See their hilarious satire when the Capitol Steps return to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, November 5 at 8 p.m. as part of the Clark Comedy Series and Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series. Donald Trump may be a nightmare for some - but for Capitol Steps he's comedy gold and sure to play a part in their comedy! So relax and celebrate your country by helping the Capitol Steps make fun of it. It's not like there isn't a lot of material to work with! Before the show, visit Steakhouse Cellar Door (439 Main Street, Ridgefield) for dinner before the show and receive a complimentary glass of house wine or draft beer and dessert with your entrée when tickets are presented. Media partner for this event is 91.1fm WSHU.

Since they began, the Capitol Steps have recorded over 35 albums, including their latest, Mock the Vote. They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard twice a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials. The only complaints the Steps seem to get are from politicians and personalities who are not included in the program! No matter who or what is in the headlines, you can bet the Capitol Steps will tackle both sides of the political spectrum and all things equally foolish. What more would you expect from the group that puts the "MOCK" in Democracy?! Improv isn't the only type of show you'll find in the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series - other exciting shows include The Hit Men featuring former stars of Mega-Hit Acts Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons & Tommy James and The Shondells on November 13, Darlene Love Christmas: Love for the Holidays on Sunday, November 22, Echoes of Sinatra 100th Birthday Celebration on December 12, The Who's Tommy - A Concert on January 22 and many more!

For tickets ($56. - $1 per ticket will be donated to Sunrise Ridgefield Rotary Club), call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795.
