Symphonic Surprise! is a family concert in which the Columbus Symphony performs a program of playful and unexpected classical music, including polkas, familiar favorites, and humorous surprises. The concert is led by assistant conductor Elias Miller and narrated by Z.F. Taylor, with pre-concert activities beginning at 5:30 p.m. including glitter tattoos, face painting, balloon artists, an instrument petting zoo, and lawn games. A screening of Up follows the performance.
