Jaja’s African Hair Braiding brings the vibrant world of a Harlem salon to life at The Contemporary Theatre of Ohio from March 5 to March 22, 2026. The production, directed by Shanelle Marie and featuring Lachandra Baker as Jaja, follows West African immigrant stylists as they navigate dreams and challenges in a new country during a single electrifying summer day. Celebrated playwright Jocelyn Bioh's work focuses on themes of community and the experiences of Black womanhood, blending humor and poignant storytelling.
