"The Hunchback of Notre Dame"
A musical
Muisc by Alan Menken
Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz
Book by Peter Parnell
Directed and Choreographed by Marissa Leenaarts
Musical Direction by Ed Ridley
As the bells of Notre Dame ring from the heights of the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris, Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer observes the city reveling in the annual Feast of Fools. Escaping the stoney prison of his caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated curelly by all but the gypsy Esmeralda. What follows is a timeless tale of love, power, and the value of all human life.
Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film's Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Hailed as an "instant classic," audiences will be swept away by the magic of this unforgettable musical.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this production is strictly prohibited.
