This week the winner of the Olmsted Performing Arts art contest inspired by "Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical" was announced. It is 13 year old Blake Gallaway from Parma.

The OPA art contest welcomed submissions of art pieces inspired by the story of Jekyll & Hyde. OPA Director of Art Education judged the contest and Gallaway will receive free tickets to see "Jekyll & Hyde" and have his art displayed at the Olmsted Performing Arts Center.

Gallaway's winning art piece is entitled "The Experiment Gone Wrong" and Gallaway says "My inspiration is the concept of the split personalities of Jekyll and Hyde but with a modern, dimensional, and minimalistic twist to his horror."

Olmsted Performing Arts (OPA) - http://www.olmstedperformingarts.com - in Olmsted Falls will unleash the split-personality of "Jekyll & Hyde" on the Olmsted Performing Arts Center (OPAC) stage August 1 -3, and 8 - 10. "Jekyll & Hyde" is headlined by a talented cast of classically trained theatre and musical theatre professionals and is sure to be the most robust, spectacular and entertaining show at OPA yet.

An acclaimed cast - including Michael Padgett as Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde, Rachel Anderson as Emma Carew, Natalie Green as Lucy Harris and Josh Rhett Noble as John Utterson - will electrify the stage with this musical version of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of a brilliant scientist and his evil, self made, doppelganger. This evocative tale is an epic battle between good and evil. Henry Jekyll is convinced the cure for his father's mental illness lies in the separation of Man's evil nature from his good and he unwittingly unleashes his own dark side, wreaking havoc in the streets of London as the savage, maniacal Edward Hyde.

The OPA production of "Jekyll & Hyde" is supported by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

"Jekyll & Hyde" will be performed at the Olmsted Performing Arts Center - 6941 Columbia Rd, Olmsted Falls, OH - Aug. 1 at 7 p.m., Aug. 2 at 2 and 7 p.m., Aug. 3 at 2 p.m., Aug. 8 at 7 p.m., Aug. 9 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Aug. 10 at 2 p.m. Childcare will be available at the Aug. 3 2 p.m. show.
