Lakewood Theatre Co Hosts Auditions For ON GOLDEN POND

Lakewood Theatre Company will be having open auditions to complete the casting of its production of On Golden Pond on SATURDAY, JAN. 7, 2012. The production will be directed by Kirk Mouser. Call 503-635-3901 to reserve an audition slot.

The director is seeking: 1 young boy to play the part of Billy Ray. This character is 13, short and behaves flippantly to cover his awkwardness. All roles receive remuneration.

Audition Location: Lakewood Theatre Company at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

Materials Needed: Actors will read scenes from the play. Please bring a resume and a photo. For more information, see Lakewood's website at www.lakewood-center.org

Performance Schedule: March 9 - April 15, 2012 (Thurs-Sat at 7:30 PM, some Sundays at 7:00 PM and some Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM). Lakewood Theatre Company features an intimate 220-seat theatre located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

About the Play: Retired couple Ethel and Norman Thayer spends every summer at their home on Golden Pond. This year, their adult daughter visits, bringing along her fiancé and his 13-year-old son. The rocky relationship between father and daughter, the generation gap and the difficulties facing a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage, all combine to give this play a unique insight into the modern family. A beloved theatre classic that is touching, funny and warmly perceptive. On Golden Pond is written by Ernest Thompson.
