Based on the 1985 novel My Love, My Love; or The Peasant Girl by Rosa Guy, a Caribbean-set retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale The Little Mermaid, this theatrical adaptation features music by CCM alumnus Stephen Flaherty (BM Composition, ’82). Ti Moune, a peasant girl, rescues Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of the island, and falls in love with him. Unbeknownst to Ti Moune, the pompous gods who preside over the island make a bet with one another over which is stronger, love or death, the stakes being Ti Moune's life. This Tony Award-winning musical shares the epic story of a woman who travels far and wide to reunite with the man who has captured her heart. Estimated run time: 1 hour and 40 minutes, no intermission
