Ms Mariangela Vacatello is an internationally acclaimed concert pianist, recognized worldwide for her passion, technical ability and magnificent musicality.
Vacatello is the winner of numerous prestigious international prizes and awards, such as: finalist and winner of the Internet Audience Award at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition; winner of the 2009 Top of the World International Piano Competition; winner of the Laureate Prize at the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition; and finally second prize winner at the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition, in 1999. In acknowledgment of her artistic prowess Vacatello is a recipient of the Sterndale Bennett Scholarship, the MBF (Dame Myra Hess Award), the Tillet Trust, the Hattori Foundation, the Solti Foundation and the Academie musicale de Villecroze.
Born in Naples (Italy) from a family of musicians, Vacatello’s extensive musical education started at the age of four. In 2008, after graduating from both the Incontri con il Maestro International Piano Academy, in Imola, and the Milan Conservatory of Music, she completed a Postgraduate Performance Course at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Vacatello has worked with such prominent orchestras as the Lithuanian Symphony, Stuttgarter Philharmonics, Nordwestdeutsche Orchestra, Johannesburg Philarmonic, Haydn in Trento and Bolzano, Orchestra of Padova and Veneto, Zagreb Philarmonia, Pannon Philharmonic, Moldavian Radio Television, Filarmonica Marchigiana, Colorado Springs Philharmonic and Odessa Philharmonic.
Ms. Vacatello made her official debut onto the classical music stage at the age of fourteen, performing Liszt's First Piano Concerto with the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra in Milan. Since then, she has appeared as a soloist in the most prestigious venues and festivals worldwide, including: the Berlin Konzerthaus; Wigmore Hall, in London; Bridgewater Hall, in Manchester; Salle Cortot, in Paris; Mozarteum Auditorium, in Salzburg; and Carnegie Hall, in New York.
