WAITRESS Finds its Lulus Image

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce that two young local actresses have been cast to take on the role of "Lulu" during the Chicago engagement of Waitress. The show will make its Chicago debut at Broadway In Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph) for a limited three-week engagement July 3 - 22, 2018.

Camryn Cavaliero, 5, of Barrington, IL and Liana Gurevich, 4, of Buffalo Grove, IL, have been chosen for the role of "Lulu," the daughter of the production's main character. "Lulu" is described as "a sweet and carefree 4-5 year old who appears in the show's final scene."

Both girls were selected through an audition process held at the Cadillac Palace Theatre on May 22. Over 50 girls auditioned for the role in front of members of the Waitress company. Auditions will subsequently be held in cities across the country prior to the tour reaching them, and local girls will be cast in each tour stop.

"I can't believe it! I didn't think I was going to get "Lulu" so when I found out I was so excited," says Cavaliero who appeared in La La Land as Emma Stone's daughter. Dana, Cavaliero's mom, was just as excited when her daughter landed the role. "I prepared her before the audition by saying it was alright whether or not she got the part, and that made things even more exciting when we heard the news. We can't wait for family and friends to come see the show."

Gurevich, whose hobbies include modeling, dance and gymnastics, is thrilled to be on the theatre stage for the very first time. "I'm super excited," she says of her theatrical debut. Her mom, Lidiya, says that she chose to take her daughter to auditions to give her a unique and new experience. "We were shocked! This will be such a great memory."

Both actresses will alternate the role of "Lulu" throughout the Chicago engagement of Waitress. Exact performance dates for each girl will be determined at a later time. Tickets for Waitress, playing Broadway In Chicago's Cadillac Palace Theatre, are available at www.BroadwayInChicago.com.

Brought to life by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, this irresistible new hit features original music and lyrics by 6-time Grammy® nominee Sara Bareilles ("Brave," "Love Song"), a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam) and direction by Tony Award® winner Diane Paulus (Hair, Pippin, Finding Neverland).

Inspired by Adrienne Shelly's beloved film, Waitress tells the story of Jenna - a Waitress and expert pie maker, Jenna dreams of a way out of her small town and loveless marriage. A baking contest in a nearby county and the town's new doctor may offer her a chance at a fresh start, while her fellow Waitresses offer their own recipes for happiness. But Jenna must summon the strength and courage to rebuild her own life.

"It's an empowering musical of the highest order!" raves the Chicago Tribune. "WAITRESS is a little slice of heaven!" says Entertainment Weekly and "a monumental contribution to Broadway!" according to Marie Claire. Don't miss this uplifting musical celebrating friendship, motherhood, and the magic of a well-made pie.
