Teatro Vista Welcomes New Ensemble Members and Artistic Associates

Teatro Vista has announced the addition of two new ensemble members and seven new artistic associates to the company. The new ensemble members include Ramon Camín and Tommy Rivera-Vega. New artistic associates include Jennifer Aparicio, Cruz Gonzalez-Cadel, Carlo Lorenzo Garcia, Isaac Gomez, Ayssette Muñoz, Yunuen Pardo and Jessie Prez.

Teatro Vistais firmly committed to sharing and celebrating the riches of Latino culture with Chicago theater audiences and beyond. It is the vanguard of Latino theater in the United States, a place where Latino and non-Latino artists can expressively flourish and excel to the highest level of theatrical professionalism. It is dedicated to sharing new work by new playwrights in cutting-edge productions and presenting classic plays featuring artists of color.

Teatro Vista ensemble members are full-fledged members of the company, with benefits including voting rights, ability to develop projects with the ensemble and have Teatro Vista promote any additional projects in which they are involved. Artistic associates are artists with whom Teatro Vista has collaborated with in the past, and due to the associate's high-caliber work and artistry, the theatre wishes to continue to do so. They share some of the benefits offered to ensemble members.

In addition to the previously mentioned members, Teatro Vista's ensemble includes: Charin Alvarez, Max Arciniega, Desmin Borges, Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Ivonne Coll, Sandra Delgado, Liza Fernandez, Khanisha Foster, Ricardo Gutierrez, Erick Juarez, Sandra Marquez, Joe Minoso, Marcela Muñoz, Christina Nieves, Marvin Quijada, Gabriel Ruiz, Cecilia Suarez, Edward Torres and Juan Villa.

Also including its new members, Teatro Vista's artistic associates consist of: Rinska Carrasco-Prestinary, IIana Faust, Steve Casillas, Gabi Mayorga and Ron OJ Parson. Its resident playwrights include Kristoffer Diaz, Cándido Tirado and Martin Zimmerman. Resident designers are Brian Sydney Bembridge, Mikhail Fiksel, Regina Garcia, Jesse Klug and Christine Pascual.

Ramon Camín was born in Spain and raised in New York City, and has been able to work professionally in the U.S. as well as the UK and Spain. London credits include Frost/Nixon and We the People at Shakespeare's Globe. Madrid credits include Bent, and I Hate Hamlet. Television credits include Law & Order Criminal Intent, Law & Order SVU, Chicago P.D., The Good Wife, and the film The Machinist.

Tommy Rivera-Vega was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Credits include: Latino Theatre Festival (Los Angeles); A View From The Bridge and Momma's Boyz (Teatro Vista); In the Heights (Skylight Music Theatre); In the Heights and My Fair Lady (Paramount Theatre); Three Sisters (Steppenwolf Theatre Company); Kiss of the Spiderwoman (BoHo Theatre); Pippin (Music Theatre Company); CATS (Theo Ubique); AIDA (Bailiwick Chicago). Puerto Rico credits: Spring Awakening and Footloose. Rivera-Vega can be seen next in Drury Lane Theatre's West Side Story.

Jennifer Aparicio has been a stage manager around Chicago, working on over 25 productions, since graduating from Columbia College Chicago in 2007. Credits include: 16th Street Theater, Lifeline Theatre, and Teatro Luna. In 2014, Jennifer began production managing and has worked with Teatro Vista, Pegasus Players, and 16th Street Theater.

Cruz Gonzalez-Cadel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she earned her BA in Theatre at the Universidad del Salvador. Chicago Theatre credits include: i put the fear of mexico in em (Teatro Vista) ,The Life and Death of Madam Barker (Red Tape Theatre),Your Problem With Men (Teatro Luna), El Incas (Colectivo el Pozo) and Corazón de Manzana (Mortar Theatre).

Carlo Lorenzo Garcia is an actor/director and company member of Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., where he served as producing director. He is also an artistic associate with Wayward Productions and Chicago Dramatists. Acting credits include: Teatro Vista, Goodman Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., Strawdog Theatre Company, Collaboraction and more. Directing credits include work with Wayward Productions, Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co., Collaboraction, and most recently the TV pilot Cowl Girl. Film credits include Anything is Possible, I Made America, Innocent, and We Had This Band.

Isaac Gomez is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and a recipient of the George H. Mitchell Award for Academic Excellence. As a playwright, his most recent works include The Women of Juarez, an ethnographic piece centered on the mass murder of women in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico (Austin Critics Table David Mark Cohen New Play Award - 2013.) Currently, Gomez is the literary manager at Victory Gardens Theater, where he is the resident dramaturg and the curator of their Public Programs event series. He is also an administrative associate at the Alliance of Latino Theatre Artists (ALTA) in Chicago and a founding member of El Semillero, ALTA Chicago's inaugural Latino Playwrights Circle.

Ayssette Muñoz is from McAllen, TX and has been living in Chicago for one year. She was recently seen at the Latino Theatre Festival in LA with Teatro Luna, Chicago's All Latina Theatre Company. Credits include: A View from the Bridge (Teatro Vista), GenerationSex (Teatro Luna, Chicago and San Francisco cast), The Border Game (American Theater Co. 10x10 Festival), The Comedy of Errors and Richard III (Shakespeare at Notre Dame.)

Yunuen Pardo is an international actress and producer who graduated from Columbia College and the School at Steppenwolf. In Chicago her credits include Goodman Theater, Victory Gardens, Steppenwolf and storefront theaters. Her regional credits include Sundance, Vineyard Arts Project, Renaissance and The Denver Center. Her TV and film work spans down to Mexico with credits in Televisa and independent films. Currently she is producing the TV pilot Cowl Girl and a feature film.

Jessie Prez is an actor with Chicago credits including the world premiere of How Long Will I Cry? (Steppenwolf Theatre), the Chicago premiere of Oedipus El Rey (Victory Gardens Theatre), and the Chicago premiere of Momma's Boyz (Teatro Vista). TV credits include Chicago Fire (NBC) and Boss (Showtime).
