Queen of the Hive is a new play by Tiffani Swalley Queen of the Hive tells the story of six people who have survived a plane crash and are attempting to live harmounsily on a desert island while awaiting their rescue. Soon they discover harmony doesnt come so naturally. Jaq, Regina, Sam and Erica believe their faith is the thing that will save them all. Berna believes fire will save them and Petra is caught between the two ways of thinking while dealing with her own personal revelations.Inspired by William Goldings novel Lord of the Flies, this play explores the themes of hive mentality, people versus nature, and human made systems. Queen of the Hive also deals with faith and queerness. Can the two survive together or does Petra need to sacrifice one to make the other work?
