Movement-based interdisciplinary artist Eiko Otake responds to ecological crises in films such as “A Body in Tokyo.” Born and raised in Japan and a resident of New York since 1976, Eiko’s work in Eiko & Koma helped earn the duo a MacArthur Fellowship, a Guggenheim, the Samuel H. Scripps American Dance Festival and the Dance Magazine Awards. Eiko now performs as a soloist, directs her own projects, and creates films. This screening will share some of her recent, visually striking works. Open to all ages.
ASL interpretation will be provided.
Part of the ESL Rochester Fringe Festival, taking place September 9–20 in Rochester, NY.
