TV: Groove to Highlights from MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at Finger Lakes

The Tony nominated, rock n' roll megahit, Million Dollar Quartet, opens tonight, September 15, at The Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival. The show runs until October 1 at the Merry-Go-Round Playhouse as part of the Festival's 2016 season. Based on the Dec. 4, 1956 recording session between Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, "Million Dollar Quartet" features over 21 hits by the legendary artists. James Bock, who has been seen regionally in The Full Monty, Aida and Bonnie & Clyde, will be reprising the role of Carl Perkins which he played in Million Dollar Quartet earlier this year at the Infinity Theatre Company. Playing the role of Jerry Lee Lewis is Noel Carey, who has toured nationally in Murder for Two and whose musical web series "Brooklyn Sound" will soon be seen at the New York Television Festival. The role of Sam Phillips will be played by Luke Darnell who appeared as both Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins in the Las Vegas production of Million DollarQuartet, and who was seen as Christian in Cyrano de Bergerac off-Broadway. Musician Justin Figueroa, who has opened for Grammy Award-winner Pitbull, performed with Tony Award-winner Gregory Hines and played at the Montreal Jazz Festival, joins the cast as Johnny Cash. Luke Linsteadt, playing Elvis Presley, recently performed in Chicago in Rent and in American Idiot as Johnny. Rounding out the cast is Dana Parker as Dyanne, who is reprising the role after performing at the Welk Resort Theatre in Branson, MO.

Million Dollar Quartet is directed and choreographed by Scott Weinstein, the associate director of the national tour, Las Vegas, Chicago and Norwegian Cruise Line productions of the show. The musical director is Julian Reeve, the scenic designer is David L. Arsenault, and the costume designer is Tiffany Howard. The show features lighting design by Brandon Wardell and sound design by Stephen Ptacek.
