National Theatre Live Premieres at the WYO for the 2018-2019 Season

The WYO proudly presents National Theatre Live (NTL) for its inaugural WYO season. NTL is the National Theatre's groundbreaking project to broadcast world-class theatre to cinemas in the UK and internationally. National Theatre Live launched in June 2009 and has now been experienced by over 5.5 million people in over 2,000 venues around the world - now including the WYO Theater! Six spectacular performances broadcast from London Theatres to the WYO Stage.

FOLLIES, September 25, 2018, 6pm

Run time: 155 minutes / Certification: 12 A. Appropriate for audiences 12 years old and up

Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, it's directed by Dominic Cooke (The Comedy of Errors). Winner of Academy, Tony, Grammy and Olivier awards, Sondheim's previous work includes A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd and Sunday in the Park with George.

FRANKENSTEIN, October 30, 2018, 6pm

Frankenstein returns to international cinemas this Halloween, to mark the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley's most famous novel. Directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire), Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch (Hamlet, BBC's Sherlock) and Jonny Lee Miller (Elementary, Trainspotting) alternating between the roles of Victor Frankenstein and his creation.

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME, November 27, 2018, 6pm

Captured live from the National Theatre in London, this critically acclaimed production directed by Marianne Elliot (Angels in America, War Horse) has astonished audiences around the world and has received seven Olivier and five Tony Awards.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, January 15, 2019, 6pm

Run time: 185 minutes

Certification: 15. Treat as R in the US.

Tennessee Williams' twentieth century masterpiece Cat on a Hot Tin Roof played a strictly limited season in London's West End in 2017. Following his smash hit production of A Streetcar Named Desire, Benedict Andrews' 'thrilling revival' (New York Times) stars Sienna Miller alongside, Jack O'Connell and Colm Meaney.

HAMLET, February 12, 2019, 6pm

Run time: 205 minutes / Certification: 12 A. Appropriate for audiences 12 years old and up

Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC's Sherlock, The Imitation Game) takes on the title role of Shakespeare's great tragedy. Now seen by over 750,000 people worldwide, the original 2015 NT Live broadcast returns to cinemas.

MACBETH, April 30, 2018, 6pm

Run time: 210 minutes

Certification: 15. Treat as R

Shakespeare's most intense and terrifying tragedy, directed by Rufus Norris (The Threepenny Opera, London Road), will see Rory Kinnear (Young Marx, Othello) and Anne-Marie Duff (Oil, Suffragette) return to the National Theatre to play Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.
