Young Actors Studio

The Young Actor's Studio, founded in 1996 by artistic director Jeff Alan-Lee, offers acting classes in Los Angeles for kids, teens and young adults, with additional teen programs in New York and online. Its summer program, From Stage to Screen: Realistic Film Acting, runs weekend classes on Saturdays with separate kids and teen sections. Through weekly classes students build technique in scene study, character development, improvisation and on-camera performance, in a format the studio describes as balancing real training with a supportive, creative community. Alan-Lee was a child actor who went on to teach and direct at schools, youth shelters and the Lee Strasberg Institute, and has published a book, A Young Actor Prepares, through Applause Books. Studio alumni include Olivia Rodrigo, Jordan Hull, Diego Josef and Raphael Luce.

Summer 2026 weekend option: Saturdays, kids 10:00 am-12:00 pm and teens 2:30-6:00 pm; enrolling for August weekend classes. Separate kids, teen, online teen and adult class tracks in Los Angeles and New York.
