Theatre summer camp in Westport, CT
Playhouse Playmakers is the youth theatre-making program of Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, Connecticut. It educates middle schoolers in grades 6-8 on the fundamentals of creating a play while giving them space to develop as artists. The program has shifted from a two-week summer intensive to a fall session meeting Sundays from 1 PM to 4 PM, October 11 through November 22. Playhouse Playmakers is generously supported by the Rhimes Foundation. It sits within the Playhouse's broader education department, which also offers Stand Up & Learn (a comedy workshop for kids), a masterclass series with Broadway artists, family programming, teacher resources, and internships for aspiring theatre professionals.
Now offered as a fall session rather than a two-week summer program. Open to middle schoolers in grades 6-8.
