ANGELA SCOLLO: My Heart Stood Still Monday, June 9 @ 9:30pm $15 cover With her signature ability to bring a fresh sound to both traditional musical theatre and newer, more obscure material, Angela Scollo's My Heart Stood Still explores the absurdity, humor and pain of love by way of such varied songwriters as Stephen Sondheim, Comden and Green, Noel Coward, Alanis Morrisette, William Finn and Rufus Wainwright. Angela Scollo burst onto the NYC cabaret scene in October of 2004. Since then, John Hoglund of Backstage raved she is "one of the new guilty pleasures to be found in cabaret," and Adam Feldman of Time Out NY said she "gives cabaret a much needed injection of hip." Angela's show, With Eyes in Love, which ran from December 2005 - April 2006, paid tribute to the music of Rufus Wainwright, and was awarded "pick of the week" by both The Village Voice and Time Out NY.

Singer David Nathan Scott fronts a band consisting of Sheldon Forrest (musical director) on piano and keyboards, Pete Maness on bass and Alex Menge on drums and percussion, performing 90 minutes of Motown, hard rock, psychedelic and folk-rock, bubblegum pop and protest music written or popularized by: Donovan, Sly and the Family Stone, The Rascals, Mary Hopkins, the Bee Gees, Jimmy Webb, Todd Rundgren, Marvin Gaye, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Aretha Franklin, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash, Rolling Stones, Otis Redding, Nino Rota, Harry Nilsson, Three Dog Night, Blood Sweat and Tears, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Burt Bacharach, Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, Traffic, Joe Cocker,Stevie Wonder, Simon and Garfunkel and Hugh Masekela.
