Natalie Douglas presented Different Drum: The Songs of Linda Ronstadt at Birdland on Monday evening, offering a program that reflected the breadth of Ronstadt’s musical career, including pop hits, selections from the Nelson Riddle-arranged standards albums, and material from her Spanish-language repertoire. Douglas was joined by music director Billy Stritch, with Mark Cocheo on guitar, Shirazette Tinnin on drums, Lavondo Thomas on bass, and Anna Anderson on backup vocals. The concert highlighted the range and versatility of Ronstadt’s catalog through this ensemble performance.
