Photos: Hugh Panaro Returns To 54 Below With MAN WITHOUT A MASK
The incomparable Broadway and symphony star left his opening night audience breathless.
In 2022, I had the honor to review Hugh Panaro's New York City solo show debut. It was an extraordinary night of cabaret (read the review HERE), but I haven't been back to see the gentleman since, so I asked editor Rebecca Kaplan if I could grab the gig this season but I was too late. BroadwayWorld Cabaret correspondent Stephen Sorokoff had already been assigned MAN WITHOUT A MASK. However, Rebecca pointed out, a photo flash would be most welcome, if I wanted to grab my camera but leave my pad and pencil at home. I didn't have to be asked twice, so I showed up at 54 Below last night, camera in hand and eyeglasses on nose, and, boy howdy, am I glad I did. I can't wait to read Stephen's review because Hugh Panaro is next level when it comes to music and entertaining, and I know Mr. Sorokoff will do him proud. It was an absolutely perfect night of cabaret, with four more performances this weekend and next (April 24, 25, 30 and May 1). The link for tickets is HERE, and I hope everyone will avail themselves of that link, for they will not be sorry, trust me.
In the meantime, here is a photographic glance, through my eyes, at the magic being made by Mr. Hugh Panaro. Hugh's special guest for the April 23rd show was Francesca Mehrotra.
