As first reported on TVguide.com, Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am is heading to FOX's THE X FACTOR Season 2 in the role of a mentor for judge Britney Spears' team. The singer will appear during the 'Judge's Home' round of the competition. Spears and will.i.am recently collaborated on the single "Sexy Sexy" which will appear on his new solo album #willpower, set to be released on October 15th.

The appearance marks the second reality competition which will.i.am has participated in. Last season, he served as a coach on the U.K. version of The Voice. He also is the manager of Cheryl Cole, former judge of U.K.'s X Factor.

The recently announced pairing of Spears and will.i.am completes the mentor/judge match-ups for the upcoming season. It was previously revealed that Nick Jonas will work with Demi Lovato, Justin Beiber with L.A. Reid and Marc Anthony with Simon Cowell. According to reports, the contestants will be split with Lovato coaching kids ages 12-16, Spears taking on singers ages 17-24, Reid guiding vocalists 25 and older, and Cowell taking on the group acts.

The X Factor's two-hour season premiere airs tonight at 8/7c on Fox.
