William Hurt in Talks to Star in Stephenie Meyer's THE HOST

As first reported on EWonline, Oscar-winning actor William Hurt is currently in discussions to star in the upcoming film adaptation Stephenie Meyer's THE HOST.

According to the report, the actor would play the role of Jeb who is the off the wall uncle to Melanie Stryder, to be played by actress Saoirse Ronan. In the story, Stryder's brain has been taken over by the soul of an alien who is called 'Wanderer'. Jeb is the leader of the surviving human population who must fight off the alien invasion.

It has been previously announced that actor Max Irons will play the role of Jared Howe in the film, while Jake Abel will take on the role of Ian. Both men are in love with Melanie and a complex love triangle soon develops.
