When Walmart acquired Silicon Valley-based VUDU more than four years ago, they set out to transform the way you owned movies in the digital age together - from providing free VUDU digital copies with most new movie releases sold at Walmart, to their in-store and online Disc-to-Digital service that allows you to convert the physical movies you already own into a digital copy you can watch on virtually any device. Today, they're bringing a new innovation to your movie collection.

One of the great reasons we own movies is because we can share them with others. A movie collection can be a source of pride, and even a reflection of how we view the world. Many of us have been there: we're at home with friends, discover they've never experienced the outrageousness of Bridesmaids or that powerful running sequence from Forrest Gump, and feel inspired to walk over to our DVD or Blu-ray collection to lend them that movie.

Today, Walmart is bringing that movie sharing experience to the forefront with Share My Movies by VUDU -a new service enabled by UltraViolet that lets you easily and safely share your digital movie and TV show collection. Share with up to five people for free without sharing your password. All that's required are e-mail addresses.

With Share My Movies by VUDU, they are removing the friction you face when you use other services or lend physical discs. No more worrying about managing passwords and permissions across people and devices or getting discs returned with scratches. More good news: Share My Movies by VUDU applies to all DVDs or Blu-ray movies available at a Walmart stores that come with an UltraViolet digital copy.

Here's how it works: Visit VUDU.com and enter up to five e-mails of family members or friends with whom you'd like to share their UltraViolet movies and TV shows. Each invited person will receive an email with a link to create a VUDU account and connect to your UltraViolet Library.

Walmart knows you've spent a significant amount of money and time building your collection and have plenty more films to add to it. Share My Movies by VUDU is another way they're helping you get the most out of your collection. With thousands of UltraViolet titles to choose from, VUDU enables you to watch your digital movies and TV shows across your favorite devices including your laptop, smartphone, iPad Air, Xbox One and PS4. Walmart is excited about this new service and hope you give it a try. And when you do, let them know what you think.
