GSN, the leader in game shows and competitive entertainment, announced today that it has secured the telecast rights to season 31 of the iconic game show WHEEL OF FORTUNE, debuting Monday, October 24 and airing weekdays at 11:00 and 11:30am ET (8:00 and 8:30am PT). In addition, GSN Games has launched Wheel of Fortune(R) Slots: The Ultimate Collection, a new mobile app bringing together a variety of stunning Wheel of Fortune-themed slots games and authentic elements from the TV show, including Vanna White as the in-game host. Currently in its 34th season in syndication, Wheel of Fortune is America's Game(R). Originally created by Merv Griffin in 1975 as an NBC daytime show, the show is based on the popular game "Hangman." Pat Sajak and Vanna White have hosted the show since its debut in Syndication in 1983. Jim Thornton has been the show's announcer since 2011. The show features three contestants who compete by spinning the Wheel and calling out consonants for money or prizes. Once a contestant has earned some money, they are able to buy vowels for $250 each. The contestant who has won the most cash and prizes at the end of the main game goes on to play in the "Bonus Round" for additional prizes.
