According to Deadline, Netflix is moving forward with its previously rumored WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER limited sequel series.

Filming is officially underway, with eight episodes planned.

Most of the original cast is returning, including Bradley Cooper, Paul Rud, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Meloni, and Molly Shannon.

Original writers David Wain and Michael Showalter created the series, and will also executive produce.

Wet Hot American Summer is a star studded cult comedy that features the work of comedic sketch comedy writers Michael Showalter, Michael Ian-Black and David Wain. The film follows a group of camp counselor's misadventures on their last day of sleep away camp in northern Maine in the early 80's. Full of non-sequitur humor, hilarious montages, musical numbers and unrequited love, Wet Hot American Summer will make even The First Time viewer belly laugh.
