In the film, after breaking up with Mark Darcy, Bridget Jones's "happily ever after" hasn't quite gone according to plan. Now in her forties and single again, she decides to focus on her career as a news producer and surround herself with her friends, old and new. For once, Bridget has everything under control. Then, her love life takes a turn and she meets a dashing American named Jack Qwant, the suitor who is everything that Mr. Darcy is not. In an unlikely twist, Bridget finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch: she can only be fifty percent sure of who the baby's father is.
