Bill O'Reilly ended his Thursday night broadcast of THE O'REILLY FACTOR on FOX News by apologizing for incorrectly stating the prior evening in two separate segments that no conservatives or Republicans had been invited to this week's commemoration of the March on Washington.

The reality was many, including both living Republican presidents, John McCain, Jeb Bush and John Boehner had been asked to attend but all had declined for various reasons. After putting his foot in his mouth, the political commentator admitted he got it wrong.

Commenting that he believes it was a mistake that the invited Republicans did not attend the event, O'Reilly admitted his on-air misstatement was "entirely on me," saying he merely "assumed" Republicans were excluded. He told his audience in his Tip of the Day, advising, "Always check out the facts before you make a definitive statement, and when you make a mistake, admit it."
