Tony Vincent has has advanced to the final competition stage of THE VOICE. The live performance shows featuring the 24 chosen contestants will begin April 2. Vincent is on the team headed by Cee-Lo Green.

In January 1999, Vincent made his Broadway debut in the cast of Rent, appearing in the roles of Roger and Mark, at the Nederlander Theatre. He then starred in the 2000 London cast of Jesus Christ Superstar as Simon Zealotes, and went on to play Judas in the Broadway transfer.

Vincent originated the role of St. Jimmy in American Idiot, the Tony award-winning stage musical based on Green Day's award-winning album of the same name. The production premiered at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in September 2009 and transferred to Broadway in 2010.

"The Voice" is a vocal competition series modeled after Holland's top-rated vocal talent discovery show, "The Voice of Holland." Hosted again in its second season by Carson Daly, the show features four musician coaches, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, who coach only the most talented vocalists.

The show's format features three stages of competition: the first begins with the blind audition, then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows. During the blind auditions, the decisions from the coaches were based solely on voice and not on looks. The coaches hear the contestants perform, but they don't get to see them -- thanks to rotating chairs. If a coach is impressed by the contestant's voice, he/she pushes a button to select the contestant for his/her team.

The winner will receive the grand prize of a recording contract.
