ESPN Deportes' multiplatform coverage of the 2016 - 2017 NBA season will mark the network's first year distributing the entire NBA lineup. As part of ESPN's new, multi-year rights agreement with the NBA, ESPN DEPORTES will air more regular season games than ever before; ESPN DEPORTES TV will air 50 regular season games and ESPN3 (en español) will air 51 games, delivering the most expanded Spanish-language Iineup to date with a total of 101 games. All games will be available on WatchESPN.
The season kicks off with a special 30-minute preview show, La Previa, on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 p.m. ET/ 3:30 p.m. PT, hosted by Alfredo Lomeli, Alvaro Martin and Pablo Viruegua. The live matches on ESPN DEPORTES TV begin with a double-header on Friday, October 28, starting with the Cavaliers vs. Raptors at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the Warriors vs. Pelicans at 9:30 p.m. ET. ESPN Deportes' experts Martin and Coach Carlos Morales will lead the play-by-play commentary. Fernando Alvarez and Viruega will also call select games. Sebastian Martinez-Christensen and Claudia Trejos will be onsite reporting from the court. For the first time ever, ESPN DEPORTES Radio - the only Spanish-language radio network to carry NBA- will also broadcast regular season games, which will be available across ESPN DEPORTES Radio terrestrial stations, via satellite radio and on audio streaming, starting Friday, November 4th. Pre and post-game play-by-play commentary will be provided by ESPN DEPORTES experts Kenneth Garay and Martínez-Christensen.
