Telemundo Studios has announced the start of filming of "Los Miserables," starring Aracely Arambula, Erik Hayser, Aylin Mujica and Aaron Diaz. Set in modern times, "Los Miserables" is a melodrama about the life of an innocent woman hounded by the law who must use all her cunning to fight back, hide and prove her integrity to her pursuer, who is also the man she loves. Written by Valentina Párraga ("La Patrona") and filmed entirely in Mexico, the story is inspired by the epic drama by French novelist Victor Hugo, a leading figure in romantic literature.

After starring in Telemundo's "La Patrona," Aracely Arambula returns to play the lead role of Lucia "Lucha" Duran, a beautiful woman who is released from a Texas jail after serving 11 years for a crime she didn't commit. In the course of trying to rebuild her life, "Lucha" finds herself playing a dangerous game of truth and lies with her family, whom prefers to forget her, and on an impossible quest to win the heart of the man who is out to destroy her.

Erik Hayser co-stars in this mega production as chief detective Daniel Ponce, who has it in his power to make "Lucha's" life heaven or hell as he wishes. Malice, envy and intrigue are provided by the talented Aylin Mujica who plays the villain, Claudia Duran, following her Machiavellian performance in "Corazon Valiente." Following his participation as Santiago Cano en "Santa Diabla," the versatile Aaron Diaz returns as César Mondragon, a generous and charismatic lawyer whose Betrayal is the central element behind this passionate story.

"Los Miserables" is an original Telemundo Studios production, filmed by Argos Television with Carlos Villegas directing and Martha Godoy as Executive Producer.
