Teen-Produced Short Headlines Top Tier Film Festivals
In Spring 2017, San Francisco Bay Area High School students Claire Lasater and Ethan
Paisley wrote a short film titled Indelible based on five interviews they collected from American war vets. These conversations inspired a story focused on the sense of community war vets lose upon re-entering society, conveying the importance of friendship and generating awareness on the common issue of social assimilation among American servicepeople. The final script follows a PTSD-stricken war vet who travels back to the combat zone to overcome his trauma.
The production process was carried from start to finish by teenagers from various Bay Area high schools who work under Ethan Paisley's Production Company, Take18 Entertainment LLC. The team was responsible for the casting of Dorian Lockett as EDRIC, known for his role of COACH PATRICK on Netflix's Thirteen Reasons Why, as well as Jackie Dallas who plays ANGEL, famously known for playing JEN, a series regular on the Emmy-winning Netflix series Stranger Things.
Since locking the picture in June 2017, the film has been selected in eight film festivals worldwide. Most recently Ethan Paisley won for 'Best Young Filmmaker' at the prestigious Los Angeles Film Awards and the 'Semi-Finalist Award' at Los Angeles Cinéfest. He was recently nominated at the renowned Mill Valley Film Festival where his short made official selection this year. Upcoming nominations include 'Best of Fest' at the notable All American High School Film Festival among others in festivals such as the Genesis Film Festival hosted by James Franco and the Crystal Palace International Film Festival.
