Taylor Lautner to Star in Adam Sandler's GROWN UPS 2

As first reported in The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Lautner is set to star in Adam Sandler's upcoming sequel to the 2010 feature film GROWN UPS from Columbia Pictures. According to the report, the Twilight star will join most of the cast of the original film including Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek. Dennis Dugan will direct the sequel which will be produced by Sandler and Jack Giarraputo.

GROWN UPS followed a group of childhood friends who meet as adults at the funeral of their high school basketball coach. The film earned $162 million at the U.S. box office and $271 million worldwide.

Lautner will play a "fun" character in the film who will go "toe-to-toe with Sandler". He recently starred in the action movie 'Abduction', and will soon appear in an independent film to be directed by Gus Van Sant. Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final installment in the series, hits theaters in November.
