Talk Show CHUMEL CON CHUMEL TORRES to Debut on HBO Latino, 7/25

HBO LATINO announces the launch of the new original production, CHUMEL CON CHUMEL TORRES, acquired by HBO Latin America, a weekly talk show featuring analysis and political humor with a touch of irony and satire courtesy of your host, Mexican comedian Jose Manuel "Chumel" Torres. This is the first show of its kind developed and produced by HBO Latin America for the Latin American region and the United States.

The program is adhering to the 'late-night talk show' style inspired by comedians such as John Oliver and Jon Stewart. Week after week, the most relevant events and characters from Mexico and Latin America will be exposed through a sharp lens where anything goes. Chumel con Chumel Torres will hit the screens on HBO Latino, HBO NOW and HBO GO simultaneously every Monday at 11:00 p.m. beginning July 25.

Chumel Torres is considered to be the man who changed the face of Mexican social and political debate with his Youtube show, "El Pulso de la República" (The Republic's Pulse). In the last few years, he has become one of the most influential figures in terms of political satire in Mexico, with more than 1.5 million followers. The next step for Torres' growing humorous portfolio is about to arrive, exclusively, on HBO.

"I don't think what I say, I say what I think, but also what people think in regards to the news and that's what you'll hear here. I'm excited to work with HBO (Latin America) because it has always been the benchmark for the best content in the world. HBO is the closest to a free medium, like the Internet; it trusts the show's content above anything else," said Chumel Torres.

Covering various genres such as drama, comedy, documentary, late night, and more, since 2004, HBO Latin America has produced multiple critically acclaimed series, documentaries and special programs in Latin America, which are known for their originality, audacity, production quality and investment in new talent.

Chumel con Chumel Torres joins HBO's diverse original programming created and developed in Latin America. After the outstanding success of Sr. Ávila, El Negocio, Dios Inc., Antes de que nos olviden, El Hipnotizador, Héroes Cotidianos, Psi, Magnifica 70, Guerras Ajenas and Capadocia, Latin America stands out as a unique market thanks to its talent-both in front and behind the camera.

Chumel con Chumel Torres has the support of a great production team from HBO Latin America Originals, including Roberto Ríos, Paul Drago, Luis F. Peraza and William Benshimol, along with Alejandro Rincón and Monica Molina from BoomDog Films.
