THOR: RAGNAROK Earns Over $107 Million at International Box Office

Deadline reports that Disney/Marvel's THOR: RAGNAROK has earned $107.6 million at the international box office. The film has now launched in approximately 52% of the world markets, one week before it hits U.S. theaters. The strong debut of the sequel is 4% greater than that of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 and 22% higher than DOCTOR STRANGE.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, the action adventure had the biggest October opening weekend in many markets and is currently the No. 1 film wherever it is playing. Among the top international markets where the movie has been a hit are the UK ($15.8M), Korea ($15.5M), Australia ($8.4M), Brazil ($8.3M) and France ($7.4M). The film hits U.S. theaters on November 3rd.

In Marvel Studios' "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok-the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization-at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. "Thor: Ragnarok" is directed by Taika Waititi and returns Chris Hemsworth starring as Thor and Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki. They are joined by Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson and Karl Urban, with Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.

Kevin Feige is producing with Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Thomas M. Hammel and Stan Lee serving as executive producers. Eric Pearson and Craig Kyle & Christopher L. Yost wrote the screenplay.
