According to Variety, THE LYONS and AMERICAN IDIOT star Michael Esper has just joined the cast of the film Runner Runner.

Runner Runner is written by Brian Koppelman and David Levien and directed by Brad Furman. It centers on a gambler (Justin Timberlake) who plays away all of his tuition money losing at online poker and travels to Costa Rica to confront the gambling website's owner (Ben Affleck). Through a series of twists, Timberlake's character becomes Affleck's corrupt partner. Esper is set to appear as an avid online gambler and poker website employee.

The movie also stars Gemma Arterton, Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper and Ben Schwartz. It is produced by New Regency and Stone Village Pictures.

Esper recently ended his run in the Tony-nominated Broadway production of THE LYONS and previously starred in Broadway's AMERICAN IDIOT in 2010. Off-Broadway, Esper has appeared in The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures, The Four of Us, Crazy mary, subUrbia, Manic Flight Reaction, As You Like It, Big Bill, and many more. His film credits include A Beautiful Mind.
