SundanceTV announced today the renewal of its original non-fiction series CLOSE UP WITH THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, produced in partnership with The Hollywood Reporter. Recently nominated for a Daytime Emmy(R) Award in the outstanding special-class series category, "Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter" will begin airing its third season on SundanceTV in the fall. The upcoming season, comprised of 14 one-hour episodes, will be divided into two parts: the first featuring candid roundtable discussions with notables from the television community, and the second, focusing on some of the most talented actors, actresses, directors, writers and producers from the film industry.
Last season of "Close Up With The Hollywood Reporter'" included passionate and honest discussions with well-known talent and award nominees from the year's most acclaimed films and television series. Guests including Oscar(R) winners Emma Stone, Mahershala Ali, Casey Affleck, Barry Jenkins, Damien Chazelle, as well as such notables as Taraji P. Henson, Justin Timberlake, Naomie Harris and Mel Gibson discussed everything from diversity on and off-screen, what influences characters and scripts, mastering difficult locations and reluctant subjects and the process of bringing these films to an audience. "We're ecstatic to continue our partnership with The Hollywood Reporter to bring 'Close Up' to SundanceTV for a third season," said Jan Diedrichsen, General Manager, SundanceTV. "The show is a fascinating peek behind the curtain and we look forward to introducing a new group of candid roundtables from some of today's most acclaimed individuals in television and film for the newest season."Image courtesy of SundanceTV
