Style Offers Extensive Coverage of MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK, Beg. Today, 9/6

Style Media will invade Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to offer fashionistas at home extensive on-the-ground coverage on-air and online at myStyle.com from today, September 6 through Friday, September 14. Beginning Monday, September 10 at 8pm ET/PT, fashion inspired programming will take over the network with original specials and style-themed fan favorites, while fashion guru Jeannie Mai and ZAnna Roberts Rassi, Senior Fashion Editor for Marie Claire, report from the runways each evening. The weeklong fashion extravaganza wraps up with the exclusive broadcast of The 2012 Style Awards on Friday, September 14 at 8pm ET/PT.

To celebrate the Spring 2013 collections, Style takes to the airwaves with style-themed programming and short-form content, beginning today, September 6 at 8pm ET/PT, with the launch of StyleCandy’s “Trend of the Day” vignettes. Then, on Monday, September 10 at 8pm ET/PT, Style premieres “Making a Model: 28th Elite Model Look,” a one-hour special from Momentum Entertainment Group that follows the dramatic transformations of young women as they compete to be the new face of Elite Modeling. Also set to air Monday, September 10 through Thursday, September 13 at 12 Midnight ET/PT, are four special episodes of “State of Style,” which is produced by Barracuda Film & TV and offers an exclusive look into the fashion world, featuring designers who define the fashion trends and showcasing the hottest runway styles. The half-hour episodes will include interviews with major fashion players Betsey Johnson, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger and Patricia Field as well as a peek into collections from Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and Lacoste. On Tuesday, September 11 at 8pm ET/PT, Mai hosts “The Style List: Fall’s Top Ten Trends” special to count down the season’s top 10 fashion trends. Additionally, Style will air fashion-themed episodes of “Gossip Girl” on Wednesday, September 12 from 8pm to 11pm ET/PT, and fan-favorite marathons of “Sex & the City,” “America’s Next Top Model” and “Project Runway” throughout the week.

Culminating Style’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week coverage will be the exclusive broadcast airing of The 2012 Style Awards on Friday, September 14 at 8pm ET/PT. The 9th Annual Style Awards, which will be held at Lincoln Center on September 5, is a partnership between Style Media, Penske Media Corp. (PMC) and IMG Fashion and gives viewers at home front row seats to the award show that will honor fashion icons and stylists of the year. Mai with Derek Blasberg, Editor at Large for Harper’s BAZAAR, will provide commentary from the award show’s fashionable red carpet. Produced by Sunset Lane Productions, Salli Frattini (“MTV Video Music Awards”) serves as executive producer of The 2012 Style Awards televised special for Style.

During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, correspondents Mai and Roberts Rassi reunite to break in throughout the night with the latest news, from new trends to insider tips. As they circulate the runways, the fashion duo will chat with designers about their collections, discuss current and upcoming trends with experts and dish on the marvelous parties and celebrities in attendance. Mai also will interview people on the street for the “Style Pop-Up Red Carpet” which gives the everyday fashion-lovers a chance to strut their style on the impromptu runway and be featured on Style and myStyle.com. Then the Pop-Up Red Carpet heads to Lincoln Center to capture the style mavens who attend Fashion Week.

The coverage extends beyond the air as myStyle will have fashion editors on the ground in New York to provide fashionistas everywhere with exclusive content from The 2012 Style Awards, video streams of various runway shows, detailed blogs, expert commentary and photo galleries. In addition, myStyle will take a look back at the history of fashion week through an extensive photo gallery, showing how it came to be the foremost event for fashion designers. Fashion Week Flashback interstitials, also airing on Style, highlight the best of the network’s runway coverage over the years. MyStyle enhances the interactive social experience by putting users in the center of Fashion Week buzz with Twitter feeds and Twitpics from insiders at the events, a Tout feed of 15-second videos shot by the myStyle team and an Instagram feed. Users can submit questions now via Facebook and Twitter for Mai to answer on-air and on each platform during the week.
