As first reported on TVline.com, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, stars of IFC's 'Porlandia' series will be lending their voices to an upcoming episode of Fox's long-running animated series, THE SIMPSONS. The episode is scheduled to air sometime next fall when THE SIMPSONS will be returning for its record-breaking 24th season on the air.

The two actors will star as the Simpson's new hip neighbors who have just moved from Portland to the suburban town of Springfield. Homer immediately tries to get on the newcomer's good side, while Marge takes a cooler approach, sensing that the new neighbors may be hiding some secrets. The episode will be titled, 'The Day the Earth Stayed Cool."

In commenting on the casting news, Al Jean, executive producer of 'The Simpsons' joked,  “They’re the best thing to come out of Portland since everything our show took out of Portland.”
