EXCERPT: *Haters 101: How to Identify Them and Keep Them Off Your Road to Success
OPRAH: I love in "Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success," page 197, you talk about the different categories of haters. Mm-hmm. There's the I hate -- I hate everything hater. The drag you down hater. The situational hater. And the self-hate hater. There's all kinds of haters. So you can't progress. Basically what you're saying is, if you've got haters around you, in your family or not, you've got to get them out of your wagon.
STEVE: Have you ever taken an idea to a person, no matter what you take them, it's not a good idea.
OPRAH: Right.
STEVE: It's just something wrong. When I share an idea with you and you don't show me how to make that idea work, all your conversation is why it won't work, I immediately end that conversation. I'm not interested in why it won't work. That's going to arise on the journey. I just need to know, can you feel what I'm saying? Are you on board with it? Do you have a suggestion how to make it work? The moment I hear, well, you know, I don't think that will work. Okay, cool. Thank you. And I'm gone. And I don't even spend no -- I don't spend any time listening to that.
