Tomorrow, on THE DR. OZ SHOW, one of television's funniest women gets serious. We all know and love Sherri Shepherd from her years hosting The View, but behind the laughs, Sherri's been coping with a serious health issue and tabloid headlines about her divorce and court battles over a baby born via surrogate.
Sherri Shepherd on how she copes with the stress of being in the tabloids: "You know, it's real--it's rather hard because, uh, you know you have people who read a lot of the tabloids and tabloids put out things, because they want to get people coming to their site. And so it's hard to--it's hard to judge who I am when you're reading tabloid headlines. And it was--it was very, very difficult. I--I choose not to speak about Lamar's son out of respect for the baby, because he didn't deserve to have all of this ugly--ugliness around him. But, you know, I had to take a look at, um, the choices that I made..." On what she has learned about herself and forgiveness: "What have I learned about myself? I learned that, you know, that it's not cliché when--when that saying, this too shall pass. And I've learned that, you know, every day I get up and I pray and I go, Lord, what am I supposed to be doing here today? Uh, there were a lot of tears and I learned you can pick yourself back up and you can look at the world and you can smile. And I've learned about forgiveness, because forgiveness is not for Lamar. Forgiveness was for me, because I don't like--I don't ever want to be that person that goes around--you ever been around people and they're like, and he--he did this and he did that and he cheated on me 19 years ago. That's like--that's terrible. I don't want to be--I--I want to live. I want to smile so I wish him the best."Videos
