Showtime Returns To SXSW Celebrating BLACK MONDAY, THE CHI, SHAMELESS and Music Documentaries

SHOWTIME will celebrate its upcoming music documentaries SHANGRI-LA and WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN as well as series BLACK MONDAY, THE CHI and SHAMELESS at the South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals from Monday, March 11 through Wednesday, March 13. Combining culture, art, food and music, the SHOWTIME House is located at Clive Bar on Rainey Street in Austin, Texas.

The network will kick off SXSW with a work-in-progress screening of the upcoming docu-series SHANGRI-LA, the latest project from Academy Award® and Grammy winner Morgan Neville (Won't You Be My Neighbor, 20 Feet From Stardom) about legendary music producer Rick Rubin, at 2:45 p.m. at the Paramount Theater. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Neville, moderated by bestselling author Neil Strauss. In honor of the early look at SHANGRI-LA, and the upcoming docu-series WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN, the SHOWTIME House Of Music will shine a light on the diverse SHOWTIME music documentary offerings. The network will offer afternoon music trivia games, a Wu-Tang Clan name generator photo booth, concert concession stand snacks and DJ sets. The evening will be a party featuring music inspired by Rick Rubin. WU-TANG CLAN: OF MICS AND MEN, the four-part limited docuseries from filmmaker Sacha Jenkins (BURN MOTHERF*CKER, BURN!), will premiere on Friday, May 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on SHOWTIME and SHANGRI-LA will debut later this year.
