Shazam-Themed Musical Game Show Heading to FOX from Mark Burnett

Billboard reports that FOX has picked up an interactive musical game show from Mark Burnett based on the Shazam app. The news was announced by FOX Television Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden at yesterday's Television Critics Association summer press tour.

Titled "Beat Shazam", the game will feature "individuals competing to identify a particular song, much the way the Shazam app helps users find out the title and artist behind a track. Those who are successful will then have to go up against the app for the top prize." A premiere date for the new series has not been announced.

Burnett's reality dating show "Coupled" is currently on the FOX line up. He is also the force behind the long-running reality series SURVIVOR on CBS and NBC's The Voice.
