Shawnee Smith to Star in Charlie Sheen Comedy ANGER MANAGEMENT

As first reported on Deadline.com, actress Shawnee Smith will be starring in Charlie Sheen's upcoming FX comedy series ANGER MANAGEMENT. Smith most recently appeared on the CBS series 'Becker'.
The new comedy, produced by Lionsgate TV, has been given a 10-episode order from the FX network. It centers on Charlie Sheen's character, a former baseball player named Charlie, who ends up seeing a quirky therapist to deal with his out-of-control anger management issues. Smith will portray Charlie's ex-wife who resents all the years she lived in the shadow of her professional athlete husband.
According to the report, Smith was among four other actresses who auditioned for the role. No casting announcements have been made for the comedy's other roles.
Smith will be seen on the big screen in 'Jayne Mansfield's Car' directed by Billy Bob Thornton along with Kevin Bacon and Robert Duvall.
