Just after finishing her performance as Maureen in Rent at the Hollywood Bowl, Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls has been cast as a guest star in an upcoming episode of the CBS sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother,' says reports in Entertainment Weekly.

The show, which stars Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan, Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris, follows Ted Mosby (Randor) and his eccentric group of friends as Mosby tells the story of his life as a young architect-turned-professor looking for love in New York City.

Scherzinger will appear as Jessica Glitter, the former best friend of Canadian anchorwoman Robin Scherbatsky (Smulders). The episode will take another look at Robin's former career as teen popstar Robin Sparkles. Scherzinger's character will also appear as the costar of the fake Canandian talk show that previously featured Alan Thicke.

"It's going to be a satisfying third chapter in the Robin Sparkles trilogy," executive producer Craig Thomas explains. "It's a prequel to both 'Let's Go to the Mall' and 'Sandcastles in the Sand.'"

The episode, which will be called "Glitter" is scheduled to air this November. For more information about the show, visit the 'How I Met Your Mother' website on CBS.
