Saturday Night Live Backstage Showcases Behind-the-Scenes Exclusives

SNL premieres a new special, "Saturday Night Live Backstage," which takes you on a behind-the-scenes tour throughout the show's long history highlighting previously untold stories of auditions, censorship, Weekend Update, and more. Continuing to tell the story of "Saturday Night Live," NBC presents a new installment of the compelling behind-the-scenes documentary series chronicling the highs and lows of the iconic comedy show. "Saturday Night Live Backstage" airs on Sunday, February 20 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT.

The special is both a fast-paced journey through the years and an insider's view of how and why it continues to be the trendsetting show that it is. "Saturday Night Live Backstage" will also include musical guest performances and never before seen interviews with many of the show's brightest stars, writers, and guest hosts, as well as some of the most memorable characters and sketches.

Along with auditions and fan favorite clips, the special will feature stories and interviews with creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels, and many of the stars of the show including: Alec Baldwin, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Jon Hamm, and many more.

"This new special really does give viewers a backstage look at how SNL works. And it features both funny and candid behind-the-scenes stories that you've never heard, told by the biggest stars in entertainment from the entire span of the show," said Rick Ludwin, Executive Vice President of Late Night and Prime Time Series.
