SNL'S Kristen Wiig Set for Apple Comedy Series From Reese Witherspoon

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Apple has acquired a 10-episode comedy series executive produced by and starring SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE alum Krisen Wiig. Inspired by Curtis Sittenfeld's upcoming short story collection YOU THINK IT, I'LL SAY IT, the project will be produced by Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine banner.

Colleen McGuinness, who created the series will serve as showrunner and will executive produce alongside Witherspoon. Sittenfeld will serve as a consulting producer. The project marks Apple's third series with Witherspoon and joins the currently untitled morning show drama in which she stars alongside Jennifer Aniston and Octavia Spencer entry Are You Sleeping.

Wiig starred for seven seasons on NBC's SNL, where she was a regular from 2005-12. She earned three supporting actress in a comedy Emmy nominations. In recent years she has appeared on the big screen in BRIDESMAIDS, for which she earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing the original screenplay, DOWNSIZING and MOTHER!.
