Fortunately for you Seinfeld fans there is good news today! After disturbing reports that a fan favorite actor had died on Sunday, the claim has been proven to be a hoax.

Previously debunked by the New York Post, Wayne Knight, or "Newman" as long time viewers of the show know him, was supposedly in a car accident Sunday around the Pennsylvania-New York border. Though it is not the first time that rumors of a celebrities' death have been reported, most do not usually have the detailed descriptions that Knight's had.

The tabloid magazine, US Weekly, was identified as the source of the material, but the report was posted on an eerily similar website and not their real one.

Though, thankfully Knight took it all in stride tweeting, "Some of you will be glad to hear this; others strangely disappointed, but....I am alive and well!"

At least he has a sense of humor about it! Follow up tweets from Knight include: "Does someone have to DIE to trend? Geez!" and "Thanks for all the love everybody. I didn't know you cared. Glad to be breathing!"

Thanks to the small town of new followers who came onboard just to tell me they're glad I didn't kick! I feel good about the result as well.

Let's hope this idea of fake reporting someone's death stops trending.
